Hello, I am Sally, The Rural Virtual Assistant.

I run a sheep and cropping property near Trundle, NSW with my partner David. I am passionate about agriculture and regional and rural communities. I enjoy working with farm businesses, community organisations and small businesses to see them thrive.
In October 2021 I begun my journey as a virtual assistant, working a few hours a week with some clients to help them take control of their business again. I enjoyed the work, the relationship I built with my clients and the freedom and flexibility so in February 2022 I begun working as a virtual assistant part time. I also invested in virtual assistant training, personal development, business coaching and various other upskilling opportunities. In April 2022, I resigned from my part time job and took the leap of working as a virtual assistant and farmer full time. I have learnt so much on this quick and exciting journey, but one things remains the same, I aim to serve clients from regional and rural areas grow their business and have more time for the things they love.

I have developed a diverse skill-set from experience working and training in various areas, with plenty of hands-on experience from running a farm with my partner, David, running a community organisation and now a business of my own.
I am highly skilled in administration, community engagement, and project management with a strong understanding of businesses' needs, especially in the online space. In addition, I am an excellent verbal and written communicator and have built strong working relationships with stakeholders, clients, and other business partners throughout my career.
In previous administration roles, I have managed correspondence, data entry and all general administrative tasks including handling insurance claims and system optimisation projects. I have experience in finance management and managing accounts payable/receivable and preparing customer quotes. I have additional experience in sales, inventory management and IT support for agricultural technology. I am highly organised, with excellent time management skills, developed through previous experience working with tight deadlines and managing calendar bookings, email correspondence and travel arrangements.
I have been heavily involved in community organisations and working in community engagement. I have worked closely with various communities to provide education programs and drought relief initiatives, compiled several reports for state and local government, and worked closely with multiple levels of government to develop drought policy. I have coordinated various community events both locally and state-based, including online events. I have cultivated strong networks within communities and have also completed extensive training in social media, focusing on building business profiles and engagement and creating engaging and educational content.
I am an advocate for agriculture and rural and regional mental health. I have spoken at various events, including the 2021 National Drought Forum in Toowomba. I am highly skilled at developing engaging presentations, delivering keynote speeches and engaging with others. I have strong leadership skills and a solid understanding of the issues and needs of regional and rural Australia.
I have highly advanced technical skills with experience using various software programs ranging from Microsoft Office to Customer Relationship Databases, graphic design software, data entry programs and more technical IT support systems. I am highly dedicated to my work, a fast learner, and always willing to go above and beyond to ensure success.
